Big Chill Adventure Race January 28, 2023

The “Chill” is the race that started it all. This year we are going deep in the heart of Texas and heading over to  Cameron Park in Waco, TX and boy are we stoked!  This area of Texas is rich with history and we are excited to take advantage!  We’ll serve up all new stuff as well as some old favorites. Expect a tough as nails race, awesome shwagg, cool special tests and more. This year Too Cool will be based out of the Redwood Shelter.  Back to the ‘Chill’ this year is Too Cool’s famous “skip point”. Teams that bring in 5 canned goods per racer are permitted to skip a checkpoint during the race. Donations directly benefit Caritas of Waco, a local community food bank. The race will happen rain, snow, or shine, so be prepared for any type of weather.  Choose the 3-6 hr sprint or 10 hr adventure race.

Sprint Race
Teams of 2 or 3 will run, bike, paddle and face team challenges and decisions along the way. This course is designed for the beginner in mind! Too Cool will be providing the boats, racers just need to have a bike, helmet, and a camelback. Be prepared for some paddling, 8-12 miles of biking, an urban scavenger hunt and 4-6 miles of trail running plus some surprises. Estimated winning time is 3 hours. This is not an off road Tri!! This is a real adventure race. This race will be capped at 30 teams.

10 hour Adventure Race
Teams of 2 or 3 will receive trail maps and most checkpoints at the start of race. This year’s course will include paddling, mountain biking on roads, jeep trails and single track, urban scavenger hunt, O leg section (pre plotted topo map) & special challenges. Be prepared for approximately 8-10 miles of paddling, 15-25 miles of biking and 8-12 miles of trekking. Estimated winning time is 8 hours.

Reminder!! Do all three Too Cool races in 2023 and earn finisher medals that piece together AND free entry to our final Big Chill Adventure Race in 2024.
