Angry Otter Adventure Race March 27, 2021

We are shaking things up this year and adding a fun, challenging race to our spring calendar.  The Angry Otter Adventure Race will be held at Lake Somerville State Park on March 27, 2021.  Teams will bike, paddle, and run on the trails and around the lake. The Angry Otter offers something for everyone.  Both the 3-6 hr sprint and the 12 hr adventure course will have mountain biking, trail running, and paddling. As always we give racers choices for race routes and strategy. Check out a map of the area.  Too Cool will be based out of Birch Creek Park.

Sprint Race Teams of 2 or 3 will run, bike, paddle, and face team challenges and decisions along the way. This course is designed for the beginner in mind! Too Cool will be providing the boats, racers just need to have a bike, helmet, and a camelback. Be prepared for 1-2 miles of paddling, 8-12 miles of biking, and 4-6 miles of trail running plus some surprises. The estimated winning time is 3 hours. This is not an off-road Tri!! This is a real adventure race. This race will be capped at 30 teams.

12 hr Adventure Race Teams of 2 and 3 will receive trail maps and most checkpoints at the start of the race. This year’s course will include paddling, mountain biking, O leg section (pre-plotted topo map) & special challenges. Be prepared for approximately 5-7 miles of paddling, 20-30 miles of biking, and 10-15 miles of trekking. The estimated winning time is 9 hours.
